A blocked toilet is one of those problems that can't wait — especially if it's your only one. We clear blocked toilets across London quickly, and because we quote a fixed price up front, you know exactly what it'll cost before we start. No hourly meter running, no call-out fee, no surprises.
Most blocked toilets are cleared in a single visit. If it turns out to be a deeper problem in the soil pipe or drain, we carry the equipment to deal with that too — including CCTV drain surveys where needed.
Call 07904 847 696 or message us on WhatsApp and we'll usually give you a fixed price over the phone.
Blocked toilets fail in two ways — suddenly, or gradually — and which one you've got is a clue to the cause.
A sudden blockage is usually something lodged in the pan or waste pipe. The most common culprits:
A gradual blockage — where flushing has been getting slower over days or weeks — usually means a build-up in the pipe restricting the flow, until eventually nothing gets past it. This can be scale, limescale, or accumulated waste, and sometimes points to a wider drainage issue rather than the toilet alone. Over days or weeks you'll have noticed slow drainage — the water sitting longer after each flush. Left untreated, a partial blockage becomes a total one, and can start water backing up into the pan or other fixtures.
Either way, we can clear it — call us and tell us what you've noticed, as it helps us come prepared.
For a mild blockage, a few things are worth trying before you call:
Stop and call a plumber if: the bowl is close to overflowing, water is backing up into the bath or shower when you flush (a sign the blockage is in the main drain, not the toilet), you can smell drains, or you've plunged and it's still not moving. And don't use chemical drain cleaners on a toilet — they're often ineffective on toilet blockages and can splash back and damage the pan.
When you call, we'll ask a few questions to work out what we're dealing with — sudden or gradual, one fixture or several, anything you know was flushed. Then we start with the simplest effective method and escalate only if needed:
If it's not just the toilet, we clear blockages across every fixture:
If several fixtures are draining slowly at once, the blockage is likely in your main drain rather than any single fixture — see our drainage services → for blocked drains, drain repairs and CCTV surveys.
Pubs, bars, restaurants, cafés, and shops get far more toilet traffic than a home — so they block more often, and the stakes are higher. An out-of-order or overflowing toilet is a health, reputation, and sometimes a legal problem, and if you've only got one it can stop you trading.
We provide priority emergency toilet and drain unblocking for commercial premises across London, 24/7, with the same fixed-price, no-call-out-fee approach. Ask about arrangements for multi-site and managed premises.
How much does it cost to unblock a toilet in London?
We quote a fixed price before we start, and there's no call-out fee. For most straightforward toilet blockages we can give you that price over the phone once you've described the problem.
Can you come out today?
In most cases yes — we aim for a 1-hour response on emergencies and operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Water comes up in my bath when I flush the toilet — what does that mean?
That's a sign the blockage is in your main drain rather than the toilet itself. Waste can't get away, so it backs up into the lowest fixture. This needs clearing at the drain — call us and we'll deal with it properly.
Are "flushable" wet wipes really flushable?
Not really. They don't break down the way toilet paper does and are one of the most common causes of blocked toilets and drains we're called out to. Bin them rather than flush them.
Should I use a chemical drain unblocker on my toilet?
We'd advise against it. They're often ineffective on toilet blockages, can splash and damage the pan or your skin, and make it unpleasant for a plumber to then clear the blockage manually. A plunger is safer, and if that doesn't work, call us.
My toilet keeps blocking regularly — why?
Recurring blockages usually mean an underlying issue: a partial blockage deeper in the pipe, a build-up narrowing the drain, poor pipe falls, or an intruding tree root. A CCTV drain survey finds the cause so it can be fixed properly rather than repeatedly cleared.
Do you clear blocked drains as well as toilets?
Yes — toilets, sinks, baths, showers, basins, and main drains. See our drainage services for the full range.
